Lemon Bars

I'm a newbie when it comes to baking and the only cakes I'm comfortable doing are just the regular ones(carrot cake, chocolate cake, black forest) and some cupcakes(though I still suck at making frostings). When we went to the farm last weekend, I noticed that we have lemons. I didn't know that the plant at the side of the house was actually a lemon until I saw the fruits it bore(I never thought lemons actually grow here in our country.haha!).

Since I love the lemons bars I tried before at a coffee shop, I thought I'd make my own lemon bars so, I looked for a recipe online. Of course I followed the simplest one! :)

I prayed very hard that the lemon bar I'd make would be delicious and indeed they are! My family loved it!

This weekend, I stayed at the farm(again) since mom has to go somewhere and my brother had to go to a training. While there, I took time going around the farm as if it was my first time.haha!

Marshmallow Brownies

I baked some Marshmallow Brownies this morning and the whole family loved it despite them not being fans of brownies! It tastes really good! :)

Things to do for the improvement of the brownies:
More marshmallows(i did put a lot but I guess it's still not enough.the marshmallows are barely there)
White marshmallows(yellow is not really that good to look at..hihi!)
Lesser sugar for the frosting. They're too sweet for my mom though it's ok for us.
Add some walnuts

Frontyard Calamansi

We have calamansi at our front yard. Mom just placed the seedling there and it grew in just a few months and it bore lots of fruits. The fruits are even more than enough that even though we use them as juice, there's still a lot left. Because it is very sour, my bro and my sis doesn't like it that much. But me and my mom? We love it! It's one great source of Vitamin C! :)

These are some of the birds we have seen in Pugo Adventure/Pugad at Pugo, La Union when we had our joint council meeting. So sorry though because I don't know what kind of bird is in the 2nd picture and it seems like Mr. G can't help me. hehe!

What's really beautiful about the place is you can feel that you are so close to nature when you're there because of its majestic view, the beautiful landscapes and the different birds there. It's just at the foot of the mountain and is just a few walks away to the river. A great place to go to when you want to get it touch with nature :)

Jeepney Ride

This afternoon, I went to another town to withdraw some money for my Davao trip on Thursday morning. Since mom went to work, my brother has to go teach Arnis somewhere, I had to go to that town through public transport. 

This is the most popular public transport here in the Philippines, the Jeepney. it can hold 16-30 passengers and the minimum fare until 6kms is PhP6.75 for students and senior citizens and PhP8.50 for regular fare. It's been quite some time since I last rode a jeepney so when I tried riding one again, I enjoyed it.
